Biography
JUNIOR (2021): Heavily contributed at the Libero spot for a third straight year... played in all but two matches... fifth on the team in digs (146)... collected a season-high 17 digs versus Chattanooga (Sept. 4)... added four additional showings of double-digit numbers in digs, including 12 during the season closer against St. Thomas (Nov. 20).
SOPHOMORE (2020-21): Summit League Preseason Player to Watch ... again took on the starting Libero role, competing in all 17 matches ... led the team with 215 digs ... finished at tenth for Summit League individuals in that category ... stayed in the league's 'top ten' all season long ... notched career-high of 24 digs versus North Dakota (March 20) ... also recorded 32 assists.
2019 (FRESHMAN): Starting as Libero her freshman year, DePersio played in all 29 matches … recorded 361 digs… had 87 assists.
HIGH SCHOOL: Depersio comes from McHenry High School in McHenry, Ill. and played at the club level for VC United. She was a four-year varsity letter-winner. Her senior season she was named all-conference.
WHY SHE CHOSE WESTERN: “I chose Western because of the atmosphere and how inviting it was to become my future home.”
COACH'S COMMENTS: "Gabby's court awareness will be a great addition to our defense. We are excited to bring in someone with her work ethic and energy. Her tenacity and speed to the ball are things that set her apart and will allow her to be successful."
