Melissa Claycomb

Melissa Claycomb enters her second season as the graduate assistant diving coach for Western Illinois University.

During the 2008-09 season, she coached a pair of divers in seniors Eric Campbell and Anthony Holzhauer who both qualified for the 2009 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships. Claycomb also coached Campbell to the his fourth Summit League title in his career as he won the one-meter event last season. She assisted in coaching the women's team to a second-place finish at the conference championships.

Claycomb graduated in the spring of 2008 from the University of Evansville with degrees in mass communications and sports studies.  At Evansville, she was a member of the women’s diving team. Claycomb earned diver of the week honors by the Missouri Valley Conference during her senior season for her performances.

A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Claycomb has spent five summers as an assistant diving coach for the Wayne Township Twisters in her local community. She also coached two diving clinics in the Evansville community during her collegiate career.

 Claycomb is pursing a master's degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration.
