Daughter to, Thorntone & Elizabeth Murray
Sister to, Thorntone Murray (17) & Laila Lee (23)
Played tackle football at 10 years old. And was a wide receiver and cornerback. The team went on to be undefeated. I was the only girl on the team.
Her uncle, Kwame Darko, played soccer for the University of Maryland, and won two NCAA national championships in 2005 & 2008. Cousin, Diamond Beatty, played basketball at Tennessee State University. Dad, Thorntone Murray, ran track at the University of Iowa.
"I chose Western because the university is the perfect fit for me both academically and athletically. I felt welcomed as soon as I met Coach Ross, Coach Kelson and the Women’s soccer team, which makes me excited to grow under coaches and a team who share my passion and drive for the game. I enjoyed the walking tour around campus with three of the players who told me exactly what college life for an athlete is like at the school. The campus environment plus the team culture made me feel at home, and I know Western is the right place for me to reach my full potential. Lastly, Western is close to home, so my family has more access to visit and watch the team play."
