Biography

FIFTH YEAR (2024-25): Started 32 of 33 games played...Set a career-high for minutes played in a season with 879 minutes played...Scored her 1,000th career point on March 7 in the OVC Tournament Semifinal Round vs Lindenwood where she finished the game with 12 points on 4-8 shooting...Scored a season-high 24 points on January 11 vs Tennessee State in which she made a season-high six three pointers... Averaged 8.8 points per game.  

SENIOR (2023-24): Averaged 17.4 minutes off the bench appearing in all 30 games…Produced 9.2 points per game…Went 42-46 from the free throw line on the season…Set season high in points (27), field goals made (9), field goals attempts (14), 3-point field goals made (7), 3-point field goal 

JUNIOR (2022-23): Played 17.4 minutes per game across 30 appearances, making five starts… averaged 8.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game while shooting 39.7% from the field, 32.4% from deep and 75.4% from the free throw line… scored a career-high 21 points against Northern Illinois on Nov. 17, finishing 8-15 from the field and 5-9 from deep… also tied a career high with three steals against the Huskies… 11 games with double-figure scoring and eight games with at least two three pointers made.

SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Made 29 appearances off the Leatherneck bench, averaging 12.7 minutes per contest… averaged 4.9 points per game while shooting 40.% from three, which led the team (min. 50 attempts)… finished seven games in double figures for scoring, including a season-high 13 points against Chicago State on Nov. 17.

FRESHMAN (2020-21): Played in 19 games… averaged 8.1 minutes per game… made debut at Wisconsin (Nov. 29) and scored four points… had 11 points at Indiana State (Dec. 7)... hit three three-point field goals twice… knocked down 14-15 free throws.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year varsity starter… started every single game… as a senior named MVC and Metro Player of the Year… also selected First Team All-State IGCA and IPSWA… three-year All District player… second all-time leading scorer with 1,326 points… averaged 21.8 ppg in senior season… broke 10 schools records… including points (38) and threes in a game (8)... First Team MVC and Metro as a sophomore… Second Team as a junior... four-year honor roll member… voted Class Vice President… received varsity letters in soccer and volleyball.

PERSONAL: Born December 2, 2001… daughter of Mark and Lindsay McDermott… dad played football at Cornell College… mom ran track and played volleyball at Coe College… committed to Western because “It is close to home so that my family can still come to games and the people. The coaching staff and players are the best- so welcoming and they truly care about you.”... says the most memorable moment was high school team making it to state for the first time in 15 years her senior year… cites her father as biggest influence, “He has been my rebounder from day one, and as a former girls basketball coach himself, gives me lots of advice. He is always there to pick me up when I am down.”... hobbies include spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking and hanging out at the pool… plans to major in management.
