Grant Baker

Grant Baker enters his second season as a Graduate Assistant with the men’s basketball program. A former student manager at Ball State University from 2015-2018 working under James Whitford’s staff, Baker specialized in Ball State’s player development program as well as assisting with film and travel responsibilities. Baker graduated from Ball State University in May 2018 with a degree in Sports Administration.  

After graduation, Baker joined the staff at The High School of Saint Thomas More in Champaign, Illinois as a varsity assistant and freshman coach. In his only season at Saint Thomas More, Baker was a member of a first year coaching staff that helped set numerous program scoring records as well as helping to establish a winning culture for the future.
During the 2019-20 season, Baker served as the Video Coordinator for the team.  He was responsible for cutting and distributing film to the coaching staff, film exchange, and overseeing practice video.  In addition to serving as the Video Coordinator, Baker was also responsible for the program's student managers as well as assisting with various basketball operations duties.

Originally from Davenport, Iowa, Baker graduated from Centennial High School in Champaign, Illinois where he participated in the baseball and basketball programs. Baker is enrolled in the Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration master’s program and has a younger brother, Cameron. He is the son of Beverley and Daniel Baker
