Ashley McGee

Ashley McGee is entering her second season with the Leathernecks' women's basketball program in 2022-23, joining the programĀ an assistant coach prior to the 2021-22 season.

A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, McGee most recently held a four-year tenure at Jefferson College as head coach of the women's basketball team. Aside from her coaching responsibilities, McGee also oversaw budget areas, assisted in promotion and public relations activities, coordinated travel and meals for road trips, organized fundraising events, and more. The Vikings saw its most successful season in 2019-20, going 14-16 overall while making it to the Region 16 tournament's second round. McGee's group also ranked fourth in both the conference and region.

In her time at Jefferson, McGee coached one All-American, six all-region/conference players, and more than six all-academic honorees. Her team was awarded the NJCAA Sportsmanship Award twice.

From 2015-17, McGee served as an assistant in the women's basketball program at Iowa Western Community College. The nationally-ranked Reivers went 49-14 during her two years, placing 15th in the nation during the 2015-16 season. McGee also taught courses in Coaching Theory while at Iowa Western.

McGee started off her coaching career as a graduate assistant with Cardinal Stritch University women's basketball, one of the NAIA's top teams (fifth in the national rankings during 2013-14), from 2013-15. Her role in player development helped a few team members garner all-conference honorable mention recognition. The Wolves went 55-12 in the two-year span.

McGee received a Bachelor of Arts, Communications from Johnson C. Smith University in 2012, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. She obtained a Master of Science, Sport Management at Cardinal Stritch in 2015.
