Biography
JUNIOR (2022-23): All-Summit Honorable Mention… Appeared in each of the team’s 30 games, making 27 starts and playing 789 total minutes (26.3 per contest)… led the team in scoring average with 12.4 points while grabbing 4.4 rebounds and shooting 38.2% from the field, 29.9% from deep and 83.1% at the line… led the team in made field goals (105), three pointers (49) and free throws (113)… 17 games in double-figures, including six games with 20+ points… recorded the first double-double of her career with 16 points and 15 rebounds against Omaha on Jan. 5… scored a career-high 35 points in a 78-68 home victory over UMKC on Jan. 14, shooting 9-17 from the field, 6-12 from three and a perfect 11-11 at the line, two days after pairing 24 points with 11 rebounds against Oral Roberts… named the TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week on Jan. 16 after averaging 29.5 points and nine rebounds per game across those two appearances against UMKC and ORU.
SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Made 29 appearances, averaging 22 minutes per contest… led the team in three-point makes (51), which ranked tenth in the Summit League while connecting on 38.6% of her 132 attempts… scored a season-high 20 against Greenville on Dec. 11, making 7-10 from the field and 6-9 from deep… recorded three games with double-figure scoring against Summit League opponents… finished the season with averages of 6.8 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
FRESHMAN (2020-21): Played in all 24 games with one start … first career start was against North Dakota State (Jan. 3)... second on the team in three-pointers (40) to rank ninth in The Summit League… hit a shot from deep in 22 of 24 games… 10 games with two or more… drilled seven 3-point field goals at Omaha (Feb. 7) en route to a 23 point performance... averaged 20 minutes per game.
HIGH SCHOOL: Received four varsity letters… First Team All-State and All-Conference as a senior… Academic All-State recipient… three-time All-Conference selection… two-time All-District… named Second Team All-State junior year… fourth all-time leading scorer… 1,000 point club member… scored 39 points in a game, one point away from the school record… shot 48% from three in junior season…earned the academic letter award three times… on the 4.0 list… silver chord honoree.
PERSONAL: Born March 16, 2002… daughter of Chris and Julia Deets… mom played basketball at Northwest Missouri State… choose Western because of the atmosphere and the players and coaches were so welcoming… her favorite sports memory was making it to state back-to-back seasons… says her mom is the biggest influence, “She grew up with a love of basketball and went on to play it in college. She helped introduce me to the game and has helped me every step of the way.”... hobbies include working out, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends and family, and playing with her dog… plans to major in exercise science.
