Track and Field
2023-24: Set the program record for the indoor mile (4:07.17), indoor 3000 meters (8:14.68), outdoor 1500 (3:47.60), 3000 steeplechase (8:58.10) and was on the fifth-fastest indoor distance medley relay team (10:00.16). Won the OVC Outdoor 3000 steeplechase (8:59.73). Also at the OVC Outdoor Championship Meet, finished fourth in the 5000 and fifth in the 1500. Was named OVC Indoor Meet All Conference. Named OVC Scholar Athlete for 2023-24. Named OVC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week (April 3). At the OVC Indoor Meet, finished third in the 800, fourth in the mile and sixth in the 3000.

JUNIOR (Fall 2021): Made 16 appearances (14 starts), playing 1,158 minutes… scored the game-winning goal against St. Thomas on Oct. 16… finished the season with three shots (one on goal).
SOPHOMORE (SOCCER/Spring 2021): Appeared in 10 matches with eight starts… scored first career goal vs. Central Methodist (Mo) on March 28… logged 636 minutes… had two shots, both on goal.
FRESHMAN (SOCCER/2019): Played in seven games with two starts… earned starts at Green Bay (Sept. 1) and UIC (Sept. 8)... logged 221 minutes.
HIGH SCHOOL: Went to St. Cloud Apollo… played soccer and ran track all four years…earned 1st team All-State in his senior year… team captain 2016-2018… selected All-Area and Central Lakes All-Conference three years in a row… ran the 1600m at the 2018 MSHSL State Track Championships… holds all-time single season record in goals (25) and assists (24)… ended career with 42 goals and 50 assists… had most assists in the state senior year with 24 in 18 games.
PERSONAL: Born Oct. 24, 2000… son of Lois and Lamont Lommel… sister played soccer at College of St. Scholastica… brother played college soccer at Northern Michigan and St. John’s… chose Western because “ it offers the academic experience that I am looking for, and also team because of Coach Johnson's extended history with this team”… most memorable moment was “scoring a hat trick against local rivals Cathedral, and knee sliding to the fans”… says his dad is the major influencer on his soccer career because “from a young age, he had been my coach, and I've spent a lot of time with him in the car on rides to practice and games. We share so many of the same views on the game itself because of this”… hobbies include playing FIFA 19, running and hanging out with friends… majoring in History Education...Catan, Survivor, Disc Golf.
