2024-2025: Was named Honorable Mention All-American for the second year in a row in the Pole Vault placing 20th at the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Oregon...Set a program record and PR in the Pole Vault with a vault of 5.65 M at the Gary Wieneke Memorial Meet on May 2...Won the Pole Vault event in the OVC Outdoor Championships with a vault of 5.20 M...Placed second at the NCAA West Regional in College Station, Texas with a vault of 5.42 M.
2023-24: NCAA NATIONAL MEET QUALIFIER IN THE POLE VAULT. NCAA West Region qualifier in the pole vault. Set the program record in the pole vault, 17 feet, 9.25 inches at the NCAA West Region Outdoor Championship Meeet. OVC Outdoor champion in the pole vault. Grunert set the standard for the league, clearing a conference meet record height of 17’2.5’’. Grunert claimed his title by nearly a foot. During the outdoor season, won the pole vault at the OVC Championships, ISU Alumni Invite, Musco Twilight, Cougar Classic, and was fourth at the Drake Relays. Set the program outdoor and indoor pole vault records. During indoor season, won the pole vault at the Ichabod Invitational, PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic, and Jimmy Grant Invite.

2023: Won the pole vault at the Iowa State Alumni Meet (4.93m). Was second in the Janvrin Invite in the pole vault (4.9m), Augustana Meet of Champions (4.78m), Hawkeye Invite (4.8m) and Cougar Classic (4.57m). In the indoor season, won the GVSU Big Meet pole vault (5.12m) and Keck Select (5.00m). Was second in the Illini Challenge (4.75m) and Jimmy Grant Invite (4.8m).
HIGH SCHOOL: Third in the IHSA state pole vault finals (15’3); Personal-best vault of 16-8.75.
