Biography

JUNIOR (2022): Appeared in each of the team’s 17 games, starting 13 and playing 887 total minutes… team leader in points (10) and assists (four) while ranking second in goals… scored his first goal of the season against Fort Wayne on Sept. 2… followed it up with a career-best three assists in one game, assisting on all three of Western’s goals in a 3-3 draw with IUPUI on Sept. 4… on the game’s opening goal in a 3-2 victory over Lindenwood on Oct. 15… season-high two shots in three different games, including a season-high two shots on goal against Detroit Mercy on Oct. 18… played all 90 minutes twice.

SOPHOMORE (2021): Made nine appearances, playing 146 minutes… recorded an assist against Louisville on Sept. 28… finished the season with three shots (one on goal).

FRESHMAN (Spring 2021): Appeared in 10 games with one start… made Leatherneck and collegiate debut in the season opener vs. Eastern Illinois (Feb. 12)... notched first career start at Omaha (March 4)... had one shot… logged 247 minutes.

HIGH SCHOOL: Received two varsity letters in soccer…served as captain... played for coach Alejandro Romero… back-to-back offensive Player of the Year (2018-19)... All-Region Honorable Mention in 2019… owned record for goals and assists in 2020 season… named a student-scholar.    

PERSONAL: Born August 29, 2002… son of Mariam Sagir… brother Abdulkhadir played soccer at Bethany College… most memorable sports moment was winning the USYS U-18 National Championship… says Messi is biggest influenced in career because “He is humble, grounded and focused on what really matters. Always aiming to be the best and let nothing come in between it.”... hobbies include ping pong, swimming, volleyball and darts… plans to major in engineering.
