Aziz Tahir joined the Western Illinois men's soccer team as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the 2019 after he spent three seasons as a player.
Tahir is currently a Graduate Assistant in the Kinesiology of Department at WIU, where he teaches stress management and personal fitness.
SENIOR (2017): Logged six starts in nine match appearances for the Leathernecks… logged three shots and a season-high of two against Kansas City (Sept. 16)… also had a shot on goal in the match… totaled 356 minutes…
JUNIOR (2016): Appeared in all 19 games with 16 starts. Recorded two goals on the season, against Mount Mercy (Sep. 13) and Oral Roberts (Oct. 8) at home… had a season-high of four shots against Green Bay (Sep. 28) and 15 total for the season… also had nine shots on goal, including a season-high two four times throughout the year… had a game-winner against Mount Mercy to help Western Illinois win 2-0… logged 525 total minutes for the Leathernecks in 2016…
SOPHOMORE (2015): Appeared in three games for Western Illinois, appearing in WIU's 5-2 victory over Loras.
FRESHMAN (2014): Member of the University of Dubuque men's soccer team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Park Center High School... Four-year soccer varsity letterwinner... Played club soccer for the Minnesota Thunder Academy... Rated three-star prospect by TopDrawerSoccer.com... 2014 Boyls IMG Academy 150 Player Pool... Competed in the National Premier League, Midwest Regional League, and USYSA Region 2 Championships... Named First Team All-Conference.
