Plenge joined the Western Illinois athletics department in the 2021-22 school year, where he will work with the men's basketball program as a strength and conditioning specialist.
Plenge spent the last six years as a high school fitness teacher for the Clark County R-1 School District in his native hometown of Kahoka, Missouri. His tenure saw him develop and implement year-long training programs, teach form and technique, and use other various methods of training for his students. He also acted as a varsity football defensive coordinator and varsity basketball assistant.
Before his return to Kahoka, Plenge was an elementary physical education teach for the Hannibal School District #60 in Hannibal, Missouri. Various ages across K-5 grades were able to learn the importance of physical health and education under his instruction.
Plenge obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education at Central Methodist University in May 2013. He has certifications in CPR, AED, first aid, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), along with holding a State of Missouri Educator Certificate in Physical Education and Health.
