Biography

JUNIOR (2011): Played in the Jacksonville game... during opening kickoff at Missouri suffered a season-ending knee injury... joined the Leathernecks in January and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

AT PALOMAR CC: Named Special Teams Player of the Year at Palomar last fall... played quarterback and long snapper... recorded 108 rushing yards with two touchdowns and threw for 146 and a touchdown in a game... completed 60 percent of his passes and averaged six yards per carry... originally signed at Cal Poly SLO but redshirted... also a standout track athlete, qualifying for the NCAA Regionals in the High Jump.

HIGH SCHOOL: Turned down a track scholarship from UCLA to play both football and track at Cal Poly... quarterback for the only undefeated team in Southern California, finishing as the CIF San Diego Section champions at 12-0... three-time KBCSports Most Valuable Player - including the CIF Division I championship and ESPNU televised games... Player of the Month by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame (November 2007)... three-time regular season Most Valuable Player... second-leading rusher on the football team is senior year (495 yards/4.5 ypc)... the first team in high school history to go undefeated, and first time winning a CIF Championship in school history... only undefeated team in Southern California in 2007-08... led California high schools clearing 7-1 in the high jump, ranked sixth nationally with that height... cleared 7-feet three different times in high school... three-time All-Conference honoree... three-time Palomar League high jump champion... played for coach Damian Gonzales.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 12, 1989... son of Bill and Vicki Murray... No. 1 sports highlight was earning a Division I Track and Field and Division I FCS football scholarship... cousin of former Western Illinois assistant football coach/student-athlete Tim Martz... his dad has been a major influence, "From the time I started playing any sport he was always there at every game and sometimes watching and even coaching. To this day he will still give me tips and coach me on little things here and there during phone conversations or when I'm home on break."... his high school coach Khalid Maxie someone he most admires, "He was the person that made me come out for track... Throughout high school he was the best coach I had and one of the best coaches I've ever had. He always knew how to push me, what to say to get the most out of me, and over the three years through high school he coached me, he became a friend as well as a coach."... enjoys music, fishing/hunting, going to the real beach in San Diego and longboarding... favorite professional teams are the San Diego Chargers, Chicago Bears and San Diego Padres.
