Biography

JUNIOR (2022): Made 13 appearances and five starts, seeing the plate 22 times… season-high two hits in a 2-4 performance against Butler on March 14, when he hit a double and scored a run… recorded two RBIs on the season… converted each of his eight fielding opportunities.

SOPHOMORE (2021): Started four games, with 11 total appearances... had a nice showing at SIUE (March 16), where he scored two runs, drew two walks, notched a hit, and stole a base.

FRESHMAN (2020): Made four appearances. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A member of the St. Louis Patriots, he earned four varsity letters while playing for Coach Mark Valle… named 1st Team All-Metro senior year, slashing 480/577/937 with 9 HR, 57 RBI (leading the state), 52 runs scored, and 22 stolen bases.  He holds the St. Louis Patriots all-time single season (9) and career homerun records (19) along with multiple other program records. Played four years of travel ball with the St. Louis Gamers.

PERSONAL: Born June 10, 2000… son of Yvette and John Olejnik… dad played soccer at San Jose State (1980-85)... all three older brothers played college sports… most memorable sports moment was hitting a home run at Busch Stadium during his junior year… lists parents as his biggest influence because “They have always pushed me to give 100% in everything that I do. Without their love and support, I would not be the athlete or person that I am today.”... hobbies include football, lifting, writing, and playing the piano… majoring in Journalism and Broadcasting.
