Chris Monroe joined the Leatherneck baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2021 season. 

Monroe brings six years of experience at various levels- high school, american legion, travel, and collegiate - to Leatherneck baseball. He also published “Getting Your Feet Wet: The Young Coaches Playbook” in 2018 as an insider's guide to help young coaches begin their careers. 


After a three-year career on the mound at Framingham State University, he quickly began his coaching career a year later after graduation at his alma mater, where he served as the pitching coach/volunteer assistant in 2016 and 2017. Monroe helped guide the pitching staff and program to its first-ever conference championship series in program history. 

The following year (2018), he served as an assistant coach at Worcester State University where he managed the bullpen, assisted in recruiting, ran camps, and generated scouting reports. Monroe has also made stops in collegiate summer baseball with the Wisconsin Woodchucks, Winnipesaukee Muskrats, and Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs.

The Boston native graduate from Framingham in 2015 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in English.
