2010 Summit League
Winter/Spring Academic All-League Selection
2011 (SENIOR): Recorded six multiple-hit games
including three three-hit games... started 47 games this season...drove in
three runs against Illinois College... collected hits in every game at Southern
Utah... hit his first home run of the season at IPFW on May 6... had a career
best seven-game hitting streak come to end on May 7... second in Summit League
with 15 sacrifice bunts.
2010 (JUNIOR): Made starts at third base, second base and
shortstop... recorded career-highs in hits (5) and RBI (3) at Furman (2/28)... was
7-for-7 in stolen base attempts on the season... finished the year tied for ninth
with teammate Cole Waddell with five stolen bases in league play... hit his first
career-home run at Oral Roberts (4/23, 3-for-5, 1 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI)... also knocked
in three runs against Illinois College (5/4)... set a career high with four runs
in the contest... batted .362 (25-for-69) with four doubles, one homer, 14 RBI
and 18 runs scored in his final 22 games played.... raised his batting average
from .245 to .293 during that stretch.
AT TRITON COLLEGE: Voted team captain... helped
Triton to its first Region IV championship... batted .387 his sophomore year with
three home runs and 10 doubles... stole 16 bases... 12-of-22 in the region and
district tournament... ended his freshman year with a .354 batting average, two
home runs and 11 stolen bases.
HIGH
SCHOOL: Lettered two years each in baseball, basketball and golf... played
baseball for coach Paul Babcock... earned All-Conference and All-Area honors
following his senior year... helped team win Regional championship his final two
seasons... also earned All-Conference honors in golf and basketball... named to the
honor roll all four years.
PERSONAL: Son
of Jim and Anne Giglio... born December 15, 1988... his dad played baseball at the
College of Saint Francis under coach Gordie Gillespie... high school teammates
with current Leathernecks Chris Macek, Tom Lilja and John Koszulinski... No. 1
sports highlight was winning the Region IV championship at Triton last year...
his father has been a major influence, "He has put in so much time and hard
work helping me be the player I've become today."... enjoys fishing, golfing and
basketball... favorite professional team is the Chicago White Sox.
