Biography

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2022): Made 17 appearances on the season, starting three games and pitching a total of 28.1 innings… struck out 32 opposing hitters on the season,  including a season-high five against Murray State on May 15… pitched three hitless and scoreless innings against Saint Louis on March 8, walking two and striking out four.

JUNIOR (2021): No season appearances.

BEFORE WESTERN: Played at Northern Iowa Area CC… transfers with three years of eligibility… appeared in 18 total games… had 61 strikeouts in 46.0 innings… owned an 18.41 K/9 ration in sophomore year… had three wins and a complete game in freshman season. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Collected four varsity letters in baseball… won three state titles (2015, 2017, 2018)... selected for the Senior All-Star Team.. earned First Team All-State in back-to-back seasons (2017-18)… allowed only one run and owned a 0.14 ERA in his senior year… finished 9-0… struck out 90 batters in 50 innings… hitters were held to a .123 average… earned two varsity letters in football and three in wrestling. 

PERSONAL: Born September 13, 1999… son of Josh and Kelly Kratz… choose Western because “Talking to coach Pascoe it seemed like a great fit for me and it wasn’t too terribly far from home.”... says his wrestling coach Mark Bertsch has been the biggest influence on his sports career. “He has taught me so many things that helped my baseball career without me knowing it. He is the greatest coach and the greatest mentor in my life.”... hobbies include hunting, fishing, golfing video games, and coaching youth baseball… plans to major in exercise science.
