Biography

FIFTH YEAR (2024): Appeared in 4 matches, starting in a pair of those matches... Recorded season high of 24 shots faced making 6 saves against Iowa State (Aug. 15)... Tallied a season high of minutes of 90 minutes against Iowa State (Aug. 15)... Totaled 162 minutes on her final season as a Leatherneck.

SENIOR (2023): Started in 15 of the Leathernecks' 16 matches, missing one due to illness, and played all 90 minutes in each of her 15 starts... Named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week three times (Aug. 22, Aug. 29, Sept. 26)....Led all OVC keepers in saves (59) and saves per game (6.56), and ranked third in save percentage (.868).... Recorded three shutouts in conference play, against SEMO, Morehead State, and Eastern Illinois.... Made ten saves versus Tennessee Tech (Oct. 8), the second most in a game in the OVC....Finished the season with a GA/game of 1.2, and 85 total saves.

JUNIOR (2022): Appeared in all 17 games, making 16 starts… led all Summit League goalkeepers in saves with 99 while saving a career-best 76.7% of shots faced… average of 5.82 saves per game was also the top mark among Summit League goalkeepers… made 10 or more saves against Illinois State (Sept. 11), Oral Roberts (Sept. 23) and Omaha (Oct. 16), with an eight-save performance against St. Thomas (Oct. 23)… finished the season with 1,495 minutes played.


SOPHOMORE (2021): Made 18 appearances (18 starts), playing 1,612 minutes… made 84 saves on a 0.75 save percentage… made a career-high 12 saves against Milwaukee on Aug. 22… finished the season with ten games of five or more saves… recorded three shutouts… won 11 games, which is tied for second best in a single season in program history.


FRESHMAN (Spring 2021): Started first games before suffering an injury… second on the team in saves (29)... recorded career-high nine saves in back-to-back games vs. Denver (Feb. 12 &14)... totaled 485 minutes in net.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Rayo Vallecano (2014-17) and Madrid CTF (2017-2020)... five-time selection for Madrid Soccer… participated in the National Soccer Championship in 2017… appeared in the Second National Division at 15… competed in the First National Division (Top Spanish League) at age 17… team won two league titles in 2016, including one that competed in a boy’s league… four-year member of the volleyball program… participated in the National Marianist Olympic Games in volleyball (1st in 2013 and 2nd in 2014) and track and field (4th in 4X100m relay and 3rd in the long jump in 2013)... had the best academic record in class (2018)… competed twice at the Madrid Math Contest. 
 
PERSONAL: Born August 8, 2002… daughter of Jesus Navas Gonzalez and Sabina Rodriguez Medina… committed to Western because it had everything she was looking for in academics and athletics… most memorable sports moment was “When we tied in the final of an international tournament against Manchester City, I saved two penalties and because of that we won the final and the tournament”... says parents are major influence, “They have always supported me in everything and specially my dad because he drove me to the trainings and matches”... hobbies include writing poetry, reading, and working out… plans to major in biochemistry.
