Biography

2021: Summit League Pitcher of the Week (March 29)... started all eight of his appearances... helped lead WIU to the season-opener win over nationally-ranked Louisville, pitching 5.0 innings en route to his own personal win... collected another win versus South Dakota State (March 26) after impressively pitching 7.0 innings, and only allowing three hits with zero runs... finished with a 2-4 record and 42.2 innings spent on the mound.

FRESHMAN (2020): Made two starts… collegiate debut came in relief at Butler (Feb. 23)... first career start came versus Butler (Feb. 29)... threw 4.2 innings and struck out three… totaled 7.1 innings.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned five varsity letters in baseball at Harlan Community… was a three-year letter winner in football and basketball… was named 1st team All-District and All-Conference three years (16-18) in a row… named All-State… 2018 Daily Nonpareil Player of the Year… posted 112 strikeouts his junior year en route to a 28-3 record.  

PERSONAL: Born May 2, 2000… son of Janelle and Chad Sears… plays alongside brother Dillon Sears at WIU… choose Western because of the atmosphere and feels like home… most memorable sports moment was winning the 2016 State Championship… lists his brothers and parents as the biggest influences for always making baseball fun and pushing him to get better… hobbies include hunting and fishing… majoring in Nursing.
