Biography

JUNIOR (2014-15): Ashley Luke became the first-ever Western Illinois student-athlete to be named the Capital One Academic All-America of the Year, as voted on by CoSIDA. She became the first female in Summit League history to earn the prestigious award, which honors academic and athletic success... voted Summit League 'Player of the Year' in a vote by the league's head coaches, media and sports information directors... she became the fourth women's basketball player in program history to earn the league's top honor... repeated as First Team All-Summit League, and now earned All-Summit League honors all three years in a Western uniform... extended her streak to 67 straight games scoring 10 or more points... ended junior year with 11 straight double-doubles (points/rebounds), totaling 20 on the season... needs just 17 points to break the WIU all-time leading scorer record, currently with 1,531 points... moved into second place all-time in rebounds... became the 14th member of the WIU 1,000-point club... in the fall she was named the University's recipient of the Lincoln Academy Student Laureate award... earned five Summit League 'Player of the Week' awards, and now 11 in her career to tie her for third-most in Summit League history... named Summit League 'Athlete of the Month' in December... graduated with her bachelor's degree in December (just three and a half years) and is currently enrolled in graduate school to pursue a master's in political science... following the Academic All-America of the Year award, she was honored by Macomb Mayor Mike Inman by having March 3, 2015 as "Ashley Luke Day" in Macomb. Selected to the 2015 Summit League Spring Academic Honor Roll as a Distinguished Scholar.

SOPHOMORE (2013-14): Became the program's first-ever CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America honoree (Third Team)... First Team All-Summit League... Summit League All-Tournament Team... four-time Summit League Player of the Week (Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Feb. 17, Feb. 24)... ranked in the top 40 nationally in double-doubles (19), scoring (20.8), rebounding (10.5) and field-goal percentage (54.4 percent)... broke program season records for points scored (623), scoring average (20.8), free throws made (177) and field goals made (223)... set a new program record for free-throw percentage in a game, sinking 17-of-17 (100 percent) against Southeast Missouri (Dec. 7)... scored a career-high 35 points on 14-of-22 shooting in the Summit League Tournament quarterfinals against South Dakota (March 9)... also scored above 30 points at Fort Wayne (33 - Feb. 27) and versus South Dakota in the regular season (31 - Feb. 22)... finished the season with 16 games scoring 20+ points... grabbed at least 12 rebounds 12 times... scored in double figures every game... had 10 games with at least four assists... totaled 10 multi-block games... had 10 games with at least three steals... sank 28 straight free throws, third-most all-time, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 19... named to the Emerald Beach Islanders Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 14.5 points and 13.5 boards in the opening weekend tournament at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN (2012-13): Summit League 'Newcomer of the Year'... Second Team All-Summit League... Summit League All-Newcomer Team... two-time Summit League 'Player of the Week' (Feb. 18, Feb. 25)... second on the squad averaging 10.6 points... team-leading 7.2 rebounds... shot .488 from the field, the third-best field goal percentage in the league and highest by a freshman... finished fourth among the league-leaders in rebounds... team-leading seven double-doubles... team-leading 29 blocked shots, tied for fourth in the Summit League... led the team in scoring (12.9), rebounds (8.0) and field goal percentage (.497) in conference-only games... season-high 13 rebounds against Kansas City and Oakland... season-high 24 points versus Fort Wayne in the Summit League Tournament... recorded a double-double against: Bradley (10 points/12 rebounds), Kansas City (11/13), North Dakota State (19/11), at Kansas City (20/11), at South Dakota (16/10), Oakland (11/13) and vs. Fort Wayne (24/10)... recorded a double-double in four of the last five contests... eight games blocked two or more shots... season-high six assists against Bradley.

AT GREEN BAY: Redshirted her freshman season.

HIGH SCHOOL: averaged 14.5 points and nine rebounds per game her senior year... Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-State selection... helped the Knights to the sectional finals... following her junior year named Second Team All-Conference... averaged 14.1 points per game... played for coach Steve Hlucknik... lettered in tennis, basketball and track... summer final USJN All-Star two consecutive years... 2009 USJN champions... twice named to the Ashwaubenon Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team twice... Athlete Scholar Award... McDonald's All-American High School Team nomination in 2010.

PERSONAL: Born June 4, 1993 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin... No. 1 sports highlight was hitting the game winning free throws against a conference  high school rival - Muskego... her mom has been a major influence, "She always believed in me and pushed me to be the best I could be."... most admires Julie Wojta and Hannah Quilling, "They are great leaders. They always to the little fundamental things on the court to make the team better, hard lockdown defense, can hit a big shot and are great people on and off the court."... enjoys singing, writing, reading, going to movies and volunteering... favorite professional team is the Green Bay Packers... favorite musician is Josh Turner... daughter of Don and Denise Luke.
