MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois women's soccer returns to John MacKenzie Alumni Field Sunday, Sept. 27, hosting Southeast Missouri at 1 p.m.

The Leathernecks look to respond following a 7-1 result at Butler on Sunday. Western got on the board early when Rita Moran scored in the 12th minute. Callie McMurtrey and Sammy Hunt assisted on the goal.

The Leathernecks continued to battle after Butler regained its two-goal advantage, with Mahee-Lee Caron providing a strong presence in goal. Caron entered during the first half and finished the afternoon with nine saves.

Western returns home looking to build off its conference schedule and put together a strong performance in front of the home crowd.

SCOUTING SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

Southeast Missouri enters Sunday's matchup following a 1-1 draw against Central Arkansas. The Redhawks took an early lead in the sixth minute when Riley Henderson found the back of the net off assists from Maya Domian and Maci Hatzenbuehler.

Central Arkansas responded in the 32nd minute, with the two teams remaining tied through the final whistle.

SEMO finished with 16 shots compared to 11 for Central Arkansas. Natalie Allison played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded four saves, while Henderson led the Redhawks with one goal.

Following Sunday's matchup, Western Illinois continues its home schedule with their first conference contest.
