MACOMB, IL. — Western Illinois tennis returns to action this weekend as the Leathernecks compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Fall Tennis Tournament in Evansville, Indiana.
The tournament brings together six OVC programs, including Bryant, SIUE, Southeast Missouri, Lindenwood, Southern Indiana and Western Illinois. The event will feature a tournament-style format as the Leathernecks compete for a chance to advance through the championship draw.
Western Illinois enters the weekend looking to make an impact against a competitive field of OVC opponents. The tournament will provide the Leathernecks with an opportunity to test themselves in singles and doubles competition while continuing to build momentum during the fall portion of the schedule.
One of the biggest prizes of the weekend comes at the top of the draw, with the winner earning an automatic opportunity to compete at the ITA Conference Masters in Rome, Georgia.
The Leathernecks will look to battle through each round and position themselves for a deep run throughout the weekend.
