MACOMB, Ill.- Western Illinois fell to UT Martin, 14-2, in game two of the series on Saturday afternoon.
The Skyhawks scored in each of the six innings to build an early advantage and never fell. UT Martin led 4-0 after three innings before adding two more in the fourth and three in the fifth to take control of the contest.
Western Illinois broke through in the bottom of the fourth inning when Josh McClintock singled and later scored on an RBI single from Kamryn Link. The Leathernecks added their second run in the seventh after Liam Bushey doubled and came home on a Cordell Coburn RBI single.
The Leathernecks recorded 11 hits in the game, led by two-hit performances from McClintock, Wandel Campana, Coburn and Link.
Western Illinois will look to bounce back in the series finale against UT Martin on Sunday in Macomb.
