MACOMB, Ill. — The Western Illinois Leathernecks women's basketball is headed to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament, earning a #13 seed and a First Round matchup against #4 seed North Carolina Tar Heels women's basketball.
The Leathernecks will travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with the game set to take place at historic Carmichael Arena on Friday, March 20th.
Western Illinois enters the tournament following a standout season and an Ohio Valley Conference championship run, securing the program's place on the national stage. The matchup against North Carolina presents an exciting opportunity for the Leathernecks to compete against one of the nation's premier programs in front of a national audience.
