MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois women's soccer returns to John MacKenzie Alumni Field on Sunday, Oct. 18, hosting the University of Tennessee at Martin for Senior Day as the Leathernecks look to build on their first Ohio Valley Conference victory of the season.

Western Illinois enters Sunday's matchup following a 2-0 win over SIUE on Thursday. The victory marked head coach Ross Henderson's first OVC win and goalkeeper Mahee-Lee Caron's first career shutout.

After a scoreless first half, the Leathernecks broke through in the 54th minute when Rita Moran scored off an assist from senior forward Claire Brown. Western Illinois added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute as Ashton Conkling finished another Brown assist to secure the victory. Brown's two assists helped lead the Leatherneck attack, while Caron and the defense held firm to preserve the clean sheet.

The win provided a boost for Western Illinois as the team continues its push toward the OVC Tournament. The Leathernecks will look to carry that momentum into Sunday's Senior Day contest against the Skyhawks.

Tennessee-Martin (UT Martin) enters the matchup after playing Morehead State to a 0-0 draw on Thursday. The Skyhawks controlled much of the contest, outshooting the Eagles 14-4 and holding a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. Alex Weihs led UT Martin with three shots, while Addie McCleary and Yaritza Trejo each recorded two.

Goalkeeper Mac Titus recorded three saves against Morehead State to earn her sixth shutout of the season. Titus is one clean sheet away from tying the program's single-season record of seven and ranks third in program history with 16 career shutouts.

Sunday's matchup presents another important conference test for the Leathernecks as they look to continue their progress in OVC play while honoring their seniors at John MacKenzie Alumni Field.
