Box Score MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois women's soccer came up short Sunday afternoon, falling 2-0 to St. Thomas at Northwest Field. The Tommies tallied both goals in the first half to earn the win.
Freshman goalkeeper Lillian Johns made her first career start for the Leathernecks, collecting multiple saves to keep the match within reach. On the attacking side, Hana Daoudi and Kayla Turner each placed shots on frame.
Despite creating chances, the Leathernecks were unable to break through as St. Thomas held on for the road victory.
Western Illinois now turns its attention to a Thursday road matchup at Morehead State.
