Western Illinois Tennis Earns ITA Honor

MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois University Women's Tennis team, along with nine individual players, was honored by the International Tennis Association for their academic performance during the 2024-25 season, earning ITA All-Academic Team Status.

The Leathernecks posted a 3.73 GPA, the highest out of any of the Western Illinois athletic programs. The tennis team had four players with a perfect 4.0 this spring, and nine players maintained a GPA of over 3.5 for the entire year.

WIU also saw nine players earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status for their commitment to the classroom. Aubrey Brumbaugh, Richardlyne Francois, Mana Fawcett, Paige Grice, Nour Gueblaoui, Denver Johnson, Chole Routier, Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza, Anna-Evelina Trush

To earn ITA All-Academic Status, teams must have a 3.2 GPA or above in the current 2024-25 Academic year. For ITA Scholar-Athlete status, players must have a 3.5 GPA or above.
