Leatherneck Volleyball Announces 2025 Schedule

MACOMB, Ill- Western Illinois Volleyball released their 2025 schedule today which features four non-conference tournaments and one non-conference game on the road. 

Coming off of their most wins in a single season since 2005, the Leathernecks will open the 2025 campaign with a trip to Peoria, Illinois for the first tournament of the season at Bradley University on August 29 and 30. WIU will play Quinnipiac on the 29th at 2:30 p.m. before playing two games on the 30th against UT Arlington at 12:30 p.m and Bradley at 6 p.m. They will then head South on September 5 and 6 to the Saint Louis Tournament, with matchups against Murray State and Austin Peay on the 5th before closing out the tournament on the 6th versus the host Saint Louis.

WIU makes their lone trip of the season to Evansville, Indiana on September 12 and 13 for the Evansville Tournament where they will battle with Morehead State, Evansville, and UAB. The game on September 12 against Morehead State will be a non-conference matchup.

Following the Evansville tournament, the Leathernecks will head to Kansas City, Missouri on September 16 to take on former Summit League foe UMKC before ending their non-conference schedule at home for the Leatherneck Classic on September 18-20. WIU will face Chicago State, Valparaiso, and SEC opponent Missouri during their final non-conference tournament of the season. This is the first power four school the Leathernecks have played since 2018 when they were defeated by Big 12 opponent West Virgina in Fort Myers, Florida. 

Western Illinois will open Ohio Valley Conference play at home on September 25 and 26 against Tennessee Tech before heading to Edwardsville, Illinois to play SIUE on October 3 and 4 to wrap up their first two weekends of conference action. The Leathernecks will then have three games in six days as they will hit the road again on October 9 and 10 to take on UT Martin before returning home to face Eastern Illinois on October 14.

After a weekend off, WIU will again have three games in a short amount of time as they will travel to Eastern Illinois on October 21 before turning around and hosting Tennessee State three days later on October 24 and 25. The final two road trips of the season for the Leathernecks will take place on October 31 and November 1 at Lindenwood and November 13 and 14 at SEMO. The last two sets of home games will be on November 6 and 7 versus Little Rock and November 18 and 19 versus Southern Indiana to end conference play. The OVC tournament is scheduled for November 23-26 with the location TBD.
