EDWARDSVILLE, Ill- Western Illinois Baseball fell in both games of their doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at SIUE by scores of 11-2 and 8-3. The first game of the doubleheader was made up from Saturday after the second game of the series was suspended in the top of the third inning due to rain.

SIUE would then score six unanswered runs to take a 6-1 lead heading into the top of the fifth inning. Lummus would lead off the top of the fifth with a single to right center field and would come around to score later in the inning on a Liam Bushey RBI single up the middle to make it a 6-2 game. The Cougars would add on their lead in both the seventh and eighth innings to win game one by a score of 11-2. Lummus led the way for the Leathernecks in game one, going 2-4 with one RBI and two runs scored. Kyree Alexander also had a good day at the plate, going 2-3 with two singles.
