MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois women's tennis has officially released its 2026 spring schedule, featuring a competitive slate of nonconference matchups and a challenging run through the Ohio Valley Conference.
The Leathernecks open the season at home with back-to-back matches at home, hosting IU Indy on January 23 followed by Marquette on January 24. WIU then hits the road for a four-match stretch, traveling to Illinois State (Jan. 28), Chicago State (Jan. 30), Valparaiso (Feb. 1), Bradley (Feb. 6).
Western returns to Peoria on February 7 to face St. Thomas in a neutral-site matchup played at Bradley, before returning home to play Saint Louis on February 14. The Leathernecks take to the road again with two matchups in Nebraska, facing Omaha, February 20 and Creighton February 21. The Leathernecks are back at home, welcoming UW-Milwaukee February 28 and NIU on March 1. WIU will complete the non-conference portion of the schedule with a trip to Northern Iowa, March 7.
The Leathernecks look to improve on their 2025 conference finish starting with a home matchup with Southern Indiana. WIU will also host Lindenwood and SEMO in OVC action, March 22 and April 3, respectively. The Leathernecks road matchups in the OVC include a visit to Tennessee State on March 18 and SIUE on April 11.
The regular season concludes with the OVC Tournament, scheduled for April 17–19 in St Louis, Missouri.
Western Illinois aims to build momentum throughout a balanced schedule that blends regional rivalries, strong nonconference tests, and meaningful conference competition as the Leathernecks pursue a deep postseason run.
