Despite the results, Western Illinois generated sustained runs in both matches and showed signs of rhythm across multiple rotations heading into the next stretch of play.

Scouting the Trojans
Little Rock enters the weekend under longtime head coach Van Compton, who is in her 38th season leading the program. The Trojans finished the 2024 campaign with a 16-16 overall record and an 11-7 mark in OVC play. With a strong group of returners and several new additions, Little Rock looks to build momentum in 2025 after being picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll. The Trojans are coming off a split with Morehead State, falling 3-1 in the opening match before bouncing back with a 3-0 sweep in the rematch. They currently hold a 12-12 overall record and a 7-5 mark in conference play.
