MACOMB, IL— Western Illinois freshman linebacker Justin Buckner has been named OVC–Big South Co-Freshman of the Week following his standout performance in the Leathernecks' season finale against Gardner-Webb.
Buckner played a key role in Western Illinois' 29–24 victory, recording eight total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. His play behind the line of scrimmage provided critical stops at pivotal moments, helping the Leathernecks secure a strong finish to the season.
