MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois quarterback Cason Carswell has been named OVC–Big South Offensive Freshman of the Year following an outstanding debut season for the Leathernecks.
Carswell completed a stellar first season, throwing for 2,054 yards and 16 touchdowns while limiting turnovers to just three interceptions. His poise and decision-making helped anchor the Leatherneck offense and establish him as the one of the top freshman in the OVC–Big South.
Carswell's performance was instrumental in several key victories for the Leathernecks this season, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure and make plays consistently throughout the year.
The recognition as OVC–Big South Freshman of the Year underscores Carswell's immediate impact on the Leatherneck program and sets the stage for a promising collegiate career.
