Western Illinois battled through four sets on the road at Eastern Illinois Tuesday night, falling 3-1 in a hard-fought Ohio Valley Conference matchup. Keyana Cruse led the Leathernecks with 17 kills and 19 digs for her fifth double-double of the season, while Elizabeth Ziegler added 11 kills, and Grace Kremer hit .500 with five kills. Setters Madelyn Norton and Alysia Perez combined for 36 assists, and libero Karlie Lane tallied a team-high 22 digs in the effort.

  • National Recognition: Freshman setter Jaleah Bauss continues to make waves nationally, ranking 39th in NCAA aces per set. 

  • 1,000 Club: Graduate Outside Hitter Keyana Cruse surpassed the 1,000 career kills mark earlier this season at the Billiken Invitational and also reached 1,000 career digs at home against Tennessee Tech.


Scouting the Tigers

Tennessee State enters this weekend's contest under Donila Sutton, who is in her ninth season. The Tigers finished the 2024 campaign with a 10-22 overall record and a 6-12 mark in conference play. With several returners and new faces on the roster, TSU looks to build momentum in 2025 and climb the OVC standings.
