Lamb Named Big South-OVC Offensive Player of the Week

| By:
MACOMB, Ill./BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Western Illinois University quarterback Nathan Lamb had one of the better days in program history at his position last week Saturday at Illinois State, and on Monday the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Football Association took notice, naming Lamb the league's Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Lamb shares the honor with Tennessee State's Draylen Ellis.

Lamb, a senior, came out on fire on Saturday, setting a new program record by completing his first 11 passes. On the day, Lamb went 24-33 passing for 269 yards and a touchdown. Lamb also hurt ISU with his legs, rushing for three touchdowns and 59 yards on 15 carries. Lamb's three rushing touchdowns in one game were the first for the program since Nikko Watson ran for three TDs vs Indiana State in 2015.

Lamb is the first Leatherneck to earn conference Offensive Player of the Week since Naseim Brantley took home the honor on September 4, 2022, for his efforts in the season opener at UT Martin.

Western Illinois is on its bye this weekend and returns to action on Saturday, September 28, playing its home opener vs. McKendree.
