Western Illinois Tennis Back in Action with Two Matches

Leathernecks visit St. Thomas, Northern Iowa

MACOMB -- After a week off, the Western Illinois women's tennis team is back in action this weekend, playing a pair of matches on the road.

On Friday, the Leathernecks play their first match since January 27, taking on St. Thomas. Western Illinois is back in action on Saturday, playing at Northern Iowa.

The Leathernecks are 0-2 all-time against St. Thomas and 0-10 against the Panthers.

The Leathernecks are coming off a pair of losses. Western Illinois fell 7-0 to Bowling Green and Cincinnati on a trip through Ohio. Against Cincinnati, the No. 1 doubles team of Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza and Paige Grice secured the team's lone win of the weekend, scoring a 6-1 victory.

The Leathernecks are back home next Friday, hosting Northern Illinois. Western Illinois then travels to Bradley on Saturday.
