Raegan McCowan Earns Her 12th and 13th OVC Weekly Honor

BRENTWOOD, TN - Western Illinois guard Raegan McCowan has been named Co-Player and Freshman of the Week honors the Ohio Valley Conference announced on Tuesday morning. The honor is McCowan's third Player of the Week and tenth Freshman of the Week.

McCowan did it on both ends of the basketball court this past week, posting her fourth and fifth double-double of the season. McCowan started the week with an offensive masterpiece, finishing with 26 points and 11 rebounds in a 75-68 win over Lindenwood. McCowan did not slow down against SEMO as she finished with 14 points and ten rebounds in the 70-59 win. Out of the 21 rebounds McCowan grabbed, seven came on the offensive glass.

The award is Western Illinois 13th and 14th Ohio Valley Weekly Award. McCowan previously earned Freshman of the Week on Nov. 14, Nov. 21, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, Dec. 27, Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 24, Jan. 30, and Feb. 6 while earning Player of the Week on Nov. 14, Jan. 24, and Feb. 6. Junior Jasmine Nichols was named Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 21.

Western Illinois returns to action for a top-three match-up in the OVC as they welcome Little Rock inside Western Hall on Thursday night.
