Leatherneck Football Hosting Open Practice on Wednesday

MACOMB – The Western Illinois football program is hosting an open practice this Wednesday at Hanson Field at 10 a.m. The event replaces a previously announced scrimmage and tailgate on Saturday, August 19 that is no longer occurring.

The Leathernecks will go over game situations in a controlled environment with Missouri Valley Football Conference officials on hand. The practice features live contact and drills, wrapping around 11:30 a.m.

The controlled scrimmage marks the near midway point of fall camp with the squad opening at New Mexico State on September 2.

Western Illinois begins the home schedule on Saturday, September 9 at 3 p.m. against Illinois State. The game is part of the Western Illinois University Mega Reunion Weekend.
