Western Illinois Tennis Prepares for Home Finales

Leathernecks host KC, St. Thomas this weekend

MACOMB – The Western Illinois women's tennis team wraps the regular season this weekend with a pair of Summit League home matches. The Leathernecks (4-12 overall, 0-4 in the Summit League) are set to take on Kansas City (8-10, 4-1) at noon in Macomb on Friday. Western Illinois closes the regular season on Sunday, taking on St. Thomas (1-15, 0-6) at 11 a.m.

Friday's match is slated for Senior Day when the Leathernecks will honor their lone senior, Lucky Kancherla.

Western Illinois is coming off a 6-1 loss to Omaha last Friday afternoon. Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza picked up WIU's lone win, winning in a third-set tiebreaker. Kansas City is coming off a 2-4 loss to St. Louis but has won five of its last seven matches. St. Thomas has lost 10 matches in a row, with the last victory coming over Northern Illinois, 4-3, on February 26
