Western Illinois tennis splits weekend

Leathernecks falls to SIU-E on Saturday

EDWARDSVILLE – The Leathernecks women settled for a weekend split after falling to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 7-0 on Saturday.

The Leathernecks dropped to 2-2 in the winter/spring season and 3-2 overall. The three victories matches last season's win total for Western Illinois.

The Cougars took all three doubles matches, then swept the singles for the win.

Lucky Kancherla nearly took a set, falling in her opener 7-5.

The Leathernecks play a pair of matches next week, visiting Dayton on Saturday before traveling to Ashland on Sunday.
