WIU Women's Basketball Signs 3 on NSD

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois women's basketball announces the addition of three players on national signing day. The Leathernecks will add two guards and a forward representing Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois.

Coming to Macomb from the state of Iowa, Kately Eggena is a two-time first-team all-conference player for Waverly-Shell Rock High School. As a sophomore in high school, Eggena averaged 13.3 points per game and 6.8 rebounds, helping her earn third-team all-state honors. Eggena increased her numbers last season, averaging 16 points and 8.9 rebounds, being named to the second-team all-state.

Kennedy Herrig joins the program from Liberty North High School. A threat from the outside, Herrig is a career 34% three-point shooter, knocking down over 110 threes in her first three years of high school. The Liberty, Missouri native is not just a three-point threat but plays an all-around style of basketball. Herrig has collected 45 assists, 94 steals, and 220 rebounds through her first three years in high school.

Madison Davis is the final piece of the 2024 class. A guard from Marion Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Davis averaged 16 points as a junior. The three-year starter for the Spartans shot 48% from the field last season, helping her earn second-team All-IBCA and All-Conference honors.
