Last Time Out | Western Illinois completed the weekend sweep to Tennessee State last weekend. The Leathernecks all-around performance on Friday night helped them win in straight sets. On Saturday, WIU fell back on the 14 service aces they had against TSU as they won their eighth conference match in four sets. Keyana Cruse led the Leathernecks in kills (24) and digs (23) over the weekend.

First Time in a Decade | Western Illinois currently sits tied with Southern Indiana for 6th place in the OVC standings with an 8-8 record. WIU is on the verge of clinching their first trip to postseason play in ten years. The top eight teams head to the OVC tournament hosted by the regular season champion.

Heading Back | Graduate Senior Annika Black heads back to Charleston for the first time, not as a pather. Annika has been a huge defensive asset for WIU, totaling 40 blocks well and contributing 64 kills in 19 matches this season.

OVC Rankings | Keyana Cruse continues to climb up the statistical leaderboards in the OVC. The Bonner Springs, Kansas junior currently ranks seventh in kills with 345 averaging 3.42 per set. Cruse also sits at number five in total points as she has contributed 405 points this season, averaging 4.01 points per set.

Junior's Maggie Craker, Brittany Wulf, Karli Wenzel, and Julianna Schmidt also rank in the top 10. Craker sits at number five in assists with 944. Wulf ranks 6th in service aces with 26, Wenzel has 465 digs on the season, good enough for 6th, and Schmidt comes in at number 10 with 95 total blocks.

Scouting EIU | Eastern Illinois heads into this week's matchup, trying to lock up the number one seed for the OVC tournament. The Panthers are coming off a five-set loss to SIUE on Saturday and are a win or SEMO loss from being named regular season champions. Giovana Larregui Lopez leads the OVC in kills, averaging 3.86 per set. Lopez is also first in the OVC, averaging under five points a set.
