Leathernecks Welcome Tennessee Tech

Last Time Out | Western Illinois ended its non-conference season last week, falling to Chicago State in straight sets. After Tuesday's non-conference match, WIU welcomed the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana to Western Hall. After falling on Friday to USI in four sets, WIU responded with a five-set win on Saturday. Keyana Cruse led the Leathernecks on the weekend with back-to-back double-doubles.

OVC Standing | WIU held solid at the third place spot after going 1-1 in OVC play on the weekend. The Leathernecks sit 6-4 in OVC play, tied with Lindenwood. Western Illinois' six conference wins are the most since 2013 for WIU. Tennessee Tech heads into the weekend with a 2-9 record.

Breaking Records | Karli Wenzel moved into the top ten in all-time career digs over the weekend. After passing Rachel Horvat against UT Martin, Wenzel moved ahead of Ellen Miller against USI for 9th place all time. Karli currently sits 17 digs behind 8th place and 23 digs away from moving into the top six.

Top Half of the OVC | Keyana Cruse has been leading the offensive charge for the Leathernecks this season. The Bonner Springs native currently sits fourth in the OVC in kills per set (3.48). Maggie Craker ranks in the top five in assists per set at 8.38.

Friday Magic | WIU has been dominant on Fridays in OVC play. The Leathernecks have a 3-1 record in conference play, defeating their opponents nine sets to three outscoring them 376 to 356.

Scouting Tennessee Tech | The Golden Eagles come in with a 2-9 OVC record, losing their last five. The Golden Eagles have battled with every team, with five of their nine losses in five sets. Overall, Tennesse Tech has played in seven five-set matches in OVC play. Madolyn Isringhausen leads TTU with 277, averaging 3.22 kills per set.
