Western Illinois Ready for Weekend Battle With UT Martin

Last Time Out | Western Illinois wrapped up a three-match homestand last week. Falling early in the week to Chicago State in straight sets, the Leathernecks rebounded with back-to-back wins against Little Rock. Brittany Wulf led the offense against Little Rock with 16 plus kills in each match.

OVC Standings | Western Illinois is off to its best start in conference play since 2007. WIU sits with a 4-2 record, currently tied for 3rd place in the league. UT-Martin comes into the weekend with a 2-5 record, sitting in 9th place.

Offensive Power | Brittany Wulf has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Appearing in all nine sets over the weekend against Little Rock, Wulf reached double-digit kills in both at 16 &17. The Lincoln, Neb. native was effective all weekend as she hit a .371 percentage in Friday's match, followed up with a .277 hitting percentage on Saturday. Wulf added five service aces in Saturday's match.

Breaking Records | Maggie Craker moved into the top ten in all-time career assists at Western Illinois last weekend. The junior from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, had 97 assists, averaging over eight assists per set. Craker sits 169 assists away from moving into 9th place all-time.

Chasing Records | Karli Wenzel sits just 32 digs away from moving into the top ten in all career digs. Wenzel enters the weekend at 1,094 career digs and will pass Rachel Horvat to move into the top ten.

Top Half of the OVC | Keyana Cruse has been leading the offensive charge for the Leathernecks this season. The Bonner Springs native currently sits fourth in the OVC in kills per set (3.42) 

Scouting UT Martin | UT Martin picked up its second OVC win of the season last weekend, downing Tennesse State in four sets. Haeleigh Paulino had a triple-double within the match on October 3rd.
