Last Week | Western Illinois finished their multiday tournaments last weekend in New Orleans. The Leathernecks played Texas Southern, Southern University, and New Orleans in the New Orleans Invitational. WIU went 2-1 on the weekend, defeating both Texas Southern (3-1) and Southern University (3-1) before falling to the host New Orleans (1-3).

New Records | WIU set new records last week. Their wins over Texas Southern and Southern University stretched their winning streak to four games, making it the longest winning streak since 2007.

Summit League Honors | Karli Wenzel took home Summit League Defensive Peak Performer honors last week. Wenzel shined on the defensive side, accumulating 62 digs over the weekend to lead the Leathernecks to wins over Eastern Illinois, Texas Southern, and Southern. She had a new career high in digs against Texas Southern with 31. She is the first Leatherneck to win this honor since 2017.

Serving Success | WIU kept the serving aces coming this past weekend. The Leathernecks posted 21 aces to stay ranked number one in the Summit League. WIU leads the Summit League with 67 aces averaging 1.72 aces per set. Brittany Wulf leads the conference individually with 24 aces.

Scouting Drake | Drake comes into the weekend with a 7-2 record overall. Most recently, the Bulldogs went 2-1 at the Cardinal and Gold Challenge. The Bulldogs have a two-head attack with Mariana Rodrigues and Haley Bush. Rodrigues and Bush have combined for 198 kills this season.

Scouting Green Bay | Green Bay comes into this weekend with a 5-5 record. They dropped their last two matches up between No. 19 Marquette and Ball State. Alexandra Zakutney leads Green Bay with 114 kills averaging 3.71 pts per set.

What's Next | Western Illinois will play in Macomb, Ill, for the first time this season. The Leathernecks will welcome North Dakota and North Dakota State.
