Grice Improves Singles Win Total at IUPUI

Paige Grice has seen immense success in singles action.

Box Score INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | Western Illinois' women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to IUPUI Friday (March 25) at the West Indy Racquet Club in Indianapolis.

The Leathernecks posted three wins on the day, as the No. 3 pair Lucky Kancherla and Aina Cortina-Pou and the No. 6 single Maria Rybka each earned points on retired matches, while No. 4 Paige Grice notched her fourth success of the season in a 6-4, 7-5 decision. The first-year from British Columbia, Canada, currently possesses a 4-6 record in singles play (the most wins of the Leathernecks' 2021-22 roster).

Agatha Carbonell also played her opponent closely in the No. 3 slot in a 4-6, 6-7 setback.

Next up, Western will play host to Quincy Tuesday at 3 p.m.
