Rybka Leads Leathernecks Versus UND

The sophomore has now won three singles matches this season.

GALESBURG, Ill. | The Western Illinois women's tennis team applied pressure in singles play but suffered a 6-1 loss to North Dakota Saturday (March 19). 

No. 6 Maria Rybka was responsible for the Leathernecks' lone point after notching a 6-0, 4-6, 0-1 victory over her opponent. The Leathernecks' next best attempt at garnering a point came from their No. 1 Lorena Castellanos, who also pushed for three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-4). 

With the decision, the sophomore Rybka now ties Paige Grice for the most wins (3) in singles action. 

The team wraps its three-game homestand in Macomb Tuesday (March 22) versus Quincy. The match is scheduled for 3 p.m.
