The Leatherneck offense struggled, mustering two hits in two games.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Western Illinois University Fighting Leatherneck softball team played on Saturday (Feb. 19), falling to Wichita State and Illinois in two games at the Razorback Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas. Western moves to 2-7 on the season and has two more games remaining in the tournament.

Game one: Western Illinois 0 – 11 Wichita State
Lilli Weir started in the circle for Western Illinois, going three innings and allowing eight hits and five earned runs while striking out one. Maddy Anderson came in for one inning of relief and struck out two Shockers while allowing two earned runs. Offensively, Ami Ill tied for the team-lead with her sixth hit of the season, getting on base with a fourth-inning single to the right side.
