Last Week | The Leathernecks hit the road last week, taking on North Dakota State and North Dakota. Western Illinois fell in both matches in straight sets (10-25, 11, 11-25, 15-25) and (19-25, 16-25, 17-25). Hailey Sperling led the team with 14 kills on the road trip. Gabby Depersio had another double-double with ten digs and 11 assists against UND. WIU had ten total blocks as a team on the road trip.

Ahead of the Pack | With four weeks left of conference play, Brittany Wulf leads the Summit League on service aces per set. Wulf, who averages 0.47 aces per set, has had 34 aces this season. Karli Wenzel is also near the top of the statistical category. Wenzel is in second place in digs per set. Wenzel has 308 digs in 71 sets giving her an average of 4.34 digs per set.

WIU Leaders | Western Illinois offense, led by Brittany Wulf, leads the team with 228 kills, averaging 3.12 per set. Karli Wenzel is the digs leader for WIU tallying 308 digs and averaging 4.34 digs per set. Julianna Schmidt has 49 total blocks on the season, with seven solo blocks and 42 assisted blocks. Wulf leads the team with 34 service aces, with Wenzel behind her with 14. Freshman Elizabeth Ziegler is second on the team in kills (180) and blocks (42).

Scouting Denver | Denver comes into this weekend sitting at 7-4 in conference play. The first time they faced WIU, they defeated the Leathernecks in straight sets. Memphis Glasgow had a team-high nine kills in the first matchup.

Scouting Omaha | Omaha had its eight-match winning streak snapped last weekend at the hands of South Dakota. The Mavs sit in third place in the Summit League with an 8-3 record. The Mavericks defeated WIU in three sets the first time they matched up. UNO had three players with at least ten kills in the last matchup

What's Next | Western Illinois will return on the road as they head to South Dakota to battle with the Coyotes and Jackrabbits.
