WIU gets swept by Denver.

DENVER, Colo – Western Illinois finished their three-game road trip with a battle in Denver. Brittany Wulf and Aubrey Putman lead the attack as WIU teams fall to Denver in straight sets (16-25,18-25,8-25).

Set 1
Wulf and Putman started their day early in the first set as both had WIU's first two kills. After Putman brought the score to 5-2, Denver would go on a 6-0 run to gain some breathing room. WIU would knock back down. With the score 19-9, WIU Hailey Sperling and Wulf would go back-to-back with kills to bring Western Illinois within 8. Wulf and Grace Kremer would try to start another Leatherneck run but just ran out of time as Denver took set 1 25-16.

Set 2
Denver tried to jump out in front early for the second straight set. With the score 5-9 in Denver's favor, Brittany Wulf had a kill followed by an attack error on Denver with a Wulf service ace to bring the deficit to one. After a Denver 10-2 Denver run in the middle of set two, WIU countered with a 5-0 run of their own to bring WIU within four (19-15). Denver would end up holding off the fighting Leathernecks as they would take the second set 25-18.

Set 3
The third set saw WIU run out of steam. The Pioneers' 19-3 start saw them gain control quickly and early. WIU would see Wulf add another service ace and kill to her totals in the set. Denver would take the third set 25-8.
